Before you board
Is it safe to sleep on a night train?
Cabins lock from the inside, an attendant is on every sleeper coach all night, and you can book a women-only couchette on most routes.
What if I'm travelling with children?
Children under six travel free in a shared berth. We keep families together in one cabin and add ladder guards on upper berths.
Can I bring a bike or a pet?
On many routes, yes. The search shows which trains take bikes and pets, and what they cost.
What happens at the border?
Mostly nothing. Inside the Schengen area there are no checks; keep your passport or ID card with you anyway.
Can I change or cancel?
It depends on the operator's rules, which we show before you pay. Club members change for free up to two hours before departure.
